Gene W. Hill Jr. for Bordentown Township Committee

Working-Class Leadership. Real Accountability. A Voice for Every Taxpayer.

Gene W. Hill Jr. is running for Bordentown Township Committee to bring a working-class perspective, practical municipal experience, and greater accountability to local government.

As a municipal public servant, President of AFSCME Local 2475, husband, and father, Gene understands government from a perspective that is often missing in elected office, the perspective of someone who works for a living, raises a family, pays taxes, and sees firsthand how government decisions affect the people they are supposed to serve.

Gene also serves as the elected Municipal Representative on the New Jersey Public Employees’ Retirement System Board of Trustees, representing municipal public employees at the state level. His experience in municipal government and labor leadership has taught him the importance of listening, asking difficult questions, standing up for people, and holding decision-makers accountable.

Gene’s campaign is focused on responsible spending, transparent government, strong public safety and municipal services, responsible development, and protecting the quality of life that makes Bordentown Township a great place to call home.

Gene Hill is ready to be a strong, accessible voice for Bordentown Township residents and taxpayers.

Why Gene Is Running

Local Government Should Work for the People It Serves

Gene believes public office is a responsibility, not simply a title.

Working inside municipal government has given him firsthand experience with the services residents rely on every day and the impact that decisions made at Town Hall can have on employees, families, businesses, and taxpayers.

His experience representing working people has also taught him that meaningful change often starts with something simple, being willing to listen, ask questions, and speak up when something does not make sense.

Gene is running because he wants Bordentown Township residents to have an elected representative who is accessible, willing to challenge the status quo when necessary, and focused on making responsible decisions for the entire community.

Gene’s Priorities

Taxpayer Accountability
Taxpayer dollars should always be treated with respect. Gene will support responsible budgeting, ask questions about how public money is being spent, and advocate for decisions that provide real value to residents.

Open and Transparent Government
Residents deserve to understand what their government is doing and why. Gene supports clear communication, greater transparency, and elected officials who are accessible to the people they represent.

Strong Public Safety and Essential Services
Police, fire, emergency services, public works, infrastructure, and other municipal services are essential to Bordentown Township’s quality of life. Gene believes these services deserve responsible planning and strong support.

Responsible Development
Development decisions should consider more than what can be built. Gene believes the Township must consider traffic, infrastructure, public safety, municipal services, the impact on taxpayers, and the long-term character of the community.

A Voice for Working Families
Gene will bring firsthand working-class experience to the Township Committee and make sure the concerns of families who work hard, pay taxes, and depend on local services are part of the conversation.

Listening to Residents
Residents should never feel disconnected from their local government. Gene intends to be accessible, listen to concerns, communicate openly, and make sure residents know their voices matter.
